General Health Camps and Services

With the assistance of our partner NGOs, our community-based organizations provide general health check-ups to adults and children in the areas of our key populations.

Along with providing services to CBO members, these camps also enable our peer educators and leaders to build rapport and trust with the community members, engage with stakeholders, increase awareness about priority issues, and showcase what is being done to address these issues. The camps include:

  • General health camps
  • Cervical cancer detection camps
  • Eye health camps
  • Vitamin supplementation camps for children (supported by our partner, Vitamin Angels)
  • TB projects to increase awareness, prevention, and treatment

Health Camps for Truckers

Aastha Parivaar is also aware of the unmet health and counseling needs of bridge populations (truckers and migrants), which through close proximity to high-risk groups, are at risk of contracting HIV. We are committed to these needs through general health camps, focusing on eye care, dental care and HIV awareness.

These camps seek to:

  • Address general health concerns for the previously mentioned population
  • Diagnose eye ailments and distribute free spectacles to those who are diagnosed with hyperopia for near vision correction
  • Diagnose dental conditions and provide adequate referrals
  • Generate awareness about HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections(STIs) through street play and behavior change communication material
